Manitoba is a prairie province in Canada, which has a population of 1.2 million. Manitoba's largest (pop est. 700,000) and capital city, Winnipeg is also Western Canada's 4th largest CMA, and has Canada's 7th largest municipality. Other major cities, in order of size, are Brandon, Thompson, Portage la Prairie, Steinbach, Selkirk, and Winkler. Manitoba's provincial flower is the Prairie Crocus, its provincial tree is the White Spruce, and its provincial bird is the Great Grey Owl.
